Dr Sally Fairbairn
Dentist - Biological & Holistic Dentistry - Craniodental Care
Dr Sally Fairbairn brings a whole-body approach to dentistry, looking beyond the teeth to understand how oral health connects with the way we breathe, sleep, grow and function.
After completing a Bachelor of Science, Sally went on to study dentistry at Griffith University, completing her Bachelor of Oral Health in Dentistry and Graduate Diploma in Dentistry in 2011.
Her approach has continued to evolve beyond conventional dentistry, with a particular interest in biological and holistic dental care. Sally is certified in the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) through the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and is continuing her studies toward accreditation as a Biological Dentist.
Her areas of interest include biological and holistic dentistry, children’s dentistry, safe amalgam removal and restorative dental care.
But what makes Sally such an important part of our Craniodental team is the way she sees the mouth as part of something much bigger.
A child’s teeth don’t develop in isolation. The jaw, tongue, airway, breathing patterns, cranial structures, posture, sleep and nervous system are all part of the same growing child.
Working alongside our Craniodental Osteopaths, Sally brings the dental piece into this bigger picture, helping us assess not simply what is happening with a child’s teeth, but what may be influencing the way their whole craniofacial system is developing.
This collaborative approach allows dentistry and osteopathy to work together rather than in separate rooms, supporting healthy jaw and facial development, airway function and the foundations for long-term oral and whole-body health.
Sally’s calm, thoughtful and individualised approach fits beautifully with the philosophy behind our Craniodental service: look at the whole child, understand what their body is telling us, and support development as gently and thoughtfully as possible.
