Osteopath - Paediatrics, Women's Health & Craniodental Care - Founder, Happy Hearts & Craniodental Club

Dr Jelena Blajer is a founder and Director of Sports & Spinal Group and has been practising as an Osteopath for more than 25 years.

Throughout her career, Jelena has had a particular interest in women’s health, pregnancy, pre- and postnatal care, paediatrics and family health. Her approach has always been centred around treating the whole person — from women preparing for childbirth and newborn babies through to children, teenagers, parents and grandparents.

After completing her Bachelor of Clinical Sciences and Master of Health Science (Osteopathy), Jelena continued extensive postgraduate study in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field, paediatrics, Balanced Ligamentous Tension, The Rule of the Artery, pregnancy, breastfeeding and paediatrics with Caroline Stone, visceral approaches, Calm Birth and parenting.

Craniodental Osteopathy

Jelena’s long-standing interest in paediatric development and whole-body health has increasingly led her into the field of Craniodental Osteopathy, exploring the relationship between the mouth, jaw and craniofacial structures and the rest of the growing body.

Rather than looking at teeth or posture in isolation, Jelena considers how the jaw, tongue, airway, nasal breathing, chewing and swallowing patterns, cranial structures, posture and nervous system may interact as a child grows and develops.

As part of her continued professional development in this field, Jelena has undertaken training in Advanced Lightwire Functional (A.L.F.) and Vivos appliances with dentist Dr Jalal Khan, further developing her understanding of how osteopathic care can work collaboratively alongside dental and orthodontic treatment.

This has become an important part of the Craniodental service at Sports & Spinal Group, where osteopaths and dental practitioners work collaboratively to look beyond individual symptoms and consider the broader craniofacial and whole-body picture.

Jelena strongly believes that healthcare is at its best when practitioners work together. She collaborates with a broad network including dentists, orthodontists, GPs, Maternal and Child Health Nurses, lactation consultants, child psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, naturopaths and Chinese medicine practitioners to support the broader physical and emotional wellbeing of her patients.

From the body to the nervous system

After decades of working with children and families, Jelena’s clinical work also led to a deep interest in the mind-body connection, nervous system regulation, emotional resilience and the relationship between a parent’s nervous system and their child’s developing one.

Alongside her osteopathic training, Jelena has completed further education in mindset, personal development, NLP and life coaching and has presented webinars and written educational content in the areas of growth mindset, parenting and emotional wellbeing.

It was this intersection between 25 years of clinical experience, paediatric development, nervous system regulation and her own experience as a mother of three that ultimately led Jelena to create Happy Hearts.

Founder of Happy Hearts

Happy Hearts began as a conscious parenting movement and has evolved into a growing ecosystem of resources designed to help parents and children build the foundations for emotional awareness, regulation, connection, communication and resilience.

Jelena is now developing the Happy Hearts App, bringing her clinical experience and whole-child, whole-parent philosophy into an accessible digital platform for families.

The platform brings together children’s physical development, nervous system regulation, conscious parenting and craniodental and orofacial health — helping families better understand the connections between the body, breathing, sleep, behaviour, emotions and relationships rather than viewing each in isolation.

In 2026, Jelena’s work with Happy Hearts was nationally recognised when she was named an AusMumpreneur finalist in both Australia’s Top 100 Mums in Business and Digital Innovation of the Year, recognising her work translating decades of clinical experience into digital innovation for families.

At the heart of both Jelena’s clinical work and Happy Hearts is one simple philosophy: when we understand the whole child — and support the adults raising them — we create the foundations for healthier, more connected families.

Jelena currently consults from the Sports & Spinal Group Hampton and Beaumaris clinics.
