Dr Donna Davies

Paediatric Osteopath - Cranial Osteopathy - Orofacial Myology & Craniodental Care

Donna brings a holistic and preventative approach to osteopathic care and is passionate about understanding the person behind the symptoms, not simply treating where it hurts.

Through an intuitive, hands-on approach, Donna works to understand the factors that may be contributing to pain, tension and dysfunction, while supporting each person’s capacity for self-regulation and wellbeing. Drawing on both her clinical experience and her own life experiences, she creates a warm, safe and supportive therapeutic space where treatment is always tailored to the individual.

Donna has a particular interest in treating infants and children, using gentle techniques including Osteopathy in the Cranial Field. These techniques involve subtle, light contact and form an important part of her approach when working with babies and growing children.

Her interest in whole-body development has also led Donna into the field of Orofacial Myology — therapy focused on the function and coordination of the tongue, lips, mouth, jaw and facial muscles. Nasal breathing, tongue function, chewing and swallowing all play important roles in healthy growth and development, and Donna completed further study with the Australian Academy of Orofacial Myology in 2022.

She loves integrating this knowledge with osteopathic care, particularly when looking at the relationship between the jaw, tongue, airway, breathing patterns, cranial structures, posture and the wider body.

As part of her continued development in craniodental care, Donna has also completed training in Advanced Lightwire Functional (A.L.F.) and Vivos appliances with dentist Dr Jalal Khan, further supporting her ability to work collaboratively alongside dental and orthodontic practitioners.

Donna strongly believes that the best outcomes often come when practitioners work together. She collaborates with a broad network including GPs, psychologists, psychotherapists, Maternal and Child Health Nurses, lactation consultants, dietitians, dentists, occupational therapists, naturopaths and Chinese medicine practitioners to support her patients’ broader physical and emotional wellbeing.

Originally from the UK, Donna moved to Australia with her family in 2011 and is very grateful to now call Bayside home. She is deeply connected to the local community and passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of the families within it.
