We prioritise your child's needs

Supporting your family every step of the way

Our highly experienced caring Paediatric Osteopaths have a special interest and years of experience working with young families by offering Osteopathy for babies, toddlers and young children, whether they are free from injury or have health concerns ranging from musculoskeletal and neurological, postural issues, movement and co-ordination concerns, physical disabilities, growth challenges, movement difficulties, or digestive and feeding difficulties and overall emotional and physical wellbeing.

Support During The Early Years

Babies can experience strains and alignment issues from the birth process, falls, illnesses, bumps, and growth spurts. Our Osteopaths help realign their bodies to promote balance, relieve pain, and support healthy development.

Common concerns include torticollis, birth strains, walking or crawling injuries, feeding and digestive issues and shoulder dystocia.

Although not a direct cause, musculoskeletal tension can also be associated with more complex health conditions such as reflux, colic, irritability and flat head syndrome.

Babies learn with their body before their brain so Osteopathic treatment can help identify physical strains and restrictions in newborns and babies before physical compensations can occur that can go on to affect movement patterns and developmental milestones.

What to Expect From Your Baby's Osteopathic Session With Us

Our consultations are structured to allow time to take a thorough history that then guides our screening of the child and understanding potential underlying causes for what the child’s issue may be.

Our Osteopathic assessment can include evaluating a baby or child to monitor their progress in reaching age and stage-appropriate movement, coordination, activity and musculoskeletal development.

We aim to make your baby’s visit to see our Osteopaths a pleasant experience. Treatment can happen while your baby feeds or sleeps, and toddlers can play with our toys during their session. Children don’t need to lie still; their natural movements and posture during play can help the osteopath identify areas needing attention.

Our osteopathic care focuses on supporting your baby’s development by enhancing muscle and joint mobility, encouraging healthy blood flow, and promoting body symmetry for balanced growth.

Our Osteopaths may lightly hold your baby’s head, spine, body or pelvis, using subtle techniques such as Cranial Osteopathy, soft tissue massage, articulation or stretching  to encourage balance, or position them in ways that help restore alignment to, address imbalances, relieve birth-related stress, and support optimal body function.
