The benefit mindset asks the question, what does it truly mean to grow and fulfil our potential?
Rather than focusing on growth alone, the focus shifts to how we are being of value to ourselves, to others, to nature and to the future. In a benefit mindset, individuals, groups and communities seek to:
- Fulfil their potential, but choose to do it in a way that contributes to the well-being of others and society.
- Question why we do what we do and believe in doing good things for good reasons.
A benefit mindset if symbolised by the everyday positive individual and leader. Good societies and ecosystems arise from our everyday interactions through compassionate presence, trustworthy companions and aware contributors. These individuals, groups and communities who have a benefit mindset are open-minded and open-hearted. They show up, see what is needed and take wise action. It has been shown that people with this type of mindset have higher levels of overall physical and mental well-being.
