Dr Declan Knights
Dr Declan Knights has a passion for helping people, improving their quality of movement, lifestyles and health. His inspiration to become an osteopath commenced when one treated him to fix his niggling back at the age of 12.
Declan studied a year of paramedicine, then went on to complete his Bachelor of Health Science (Osteopathy) and Masters of Osteopathy. He is enthusiastic to treat and become part of his patients’ health journeys; supporting and enabling them to achieve their goals.
Declan has a keen interest in sport, especially cricket which he has played for a number of years both representatively and locally. He works with local football clubs and VFL club Port Melbourne in injury management, prevention, rehabilitation and therapeutic taping with semi-professional athletes.
Declan believes relationships are key to his practice; emphasising patient education and communication as the most important things in helping inspire and empower better health outcomes and rehabilitation. He utilises a range of techniques from soft tissue therapy, articulatory techniques and manipulation to improve range of motion whilst also using indirect techniques to relax the muscles and nervous systems in the body.
